Quad Med is seeking a dynamic RN to staff our Whirlpool Occupational Clinic! This is Full-time, 2nd shift opportunity. QuadMed Occupational Health Registered Nurses (OHRNs) are responsible for the administration of Occupational Health services in accordance with QuadMed triage guidelines and QuadMed’s third-party client company policies, practices, procedures, and applicable regulations to achieve the client’s desired goals and objectives. OHRNs assist with all aspects of QuadMed occupational health services efficiency, processes, customer service, and quality improvement.
  • Evaluate and treat injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the RN’s scope of practice and consistent with QuadMed clinical nursing guidelines
  • Guide and direct referrals to healthcare providers and services
  • Secure and develop all records related to Occupational Health services
  • Assure the appropriate access and utilization of healthcare services
  • Provide or manage the required physical evaluation programs and services to meet regulatory requirement (e.g., OSHA, Department of Transportation, CDC, etc.)
  • Assess workstations and provide input regarding ergonomic improvements
  • Administer the client company’s Drug-Free Workplace Program
  • Provide appropriate case management; manage all cases to facilitate productivity, assuring appropriate care and return to work; includes workers’ compensation, short- and long-term disability cases
  • Assess healthcare needs, then implement and manage healthcare programs to improve health and facilitate return-to-work, maintain OSHA records/reports and worker medical files
  • Assist client departments with identifying, evaluating, and implementing accommodations and return-to-work options for workers with restricted duty
  • Contribute in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment
  • Identify primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health of the worker population
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Responsible for delivering Occupational Health Nursing services under medical direction, within Nursing scope of practice, and consistent with QuadMed Mission and Vision.
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) at a minimum
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Nursing experience in Occupational Health, Urgent Care, or Emergency settings
  • Must possess at least a basic understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety, including OSHA recordkeeping
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing industry preferred
  • Experience with onsite health clinics preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the state of practice
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of electronic health records
  • Above average skills in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Able to quickly prioritize and efficiently manage multiple demands
