Marketing Events Coordinator

The Marketing Events Coordinator is responsible for developing and driving all aspects of local event planning, including internal and external events and communications, with experience in learning about and understanding key communities, developing relationships and collaborative affiliations and planning outreach activities to drive awareness of services and products.
Must be located and available to travel in/around the Dallas - Fort Worth area.
Responsibilities
- Developing a strong knowledge of the key communities and market demographics
- Creating event proposals which fit unique markets and presenting proposals by deadline
- Maintaining a working relationship with marketing & store operations
- Planning event aspects, such as activity, affiliation, communication
- Delegating event planning tasks to other staff members where necessary
- Staying under budget while planning event specifications
- Issuing invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner, and creating comprehensive and readable financial reports
- Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming customers, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors
- Communicating with marketing team to create effective advertisements for each event, and when necessary crafting marketing materials
- Anticipating and planning for different scenarios
- Creating sales opportunities for future events leveraging community partnerships
- Planning multiple events at once
Requirements
- Degree in marketing, public relations, hospitality management or relevant field is preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in event coordination or community outreach
- A proven track record of organizing successful events
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent vendor management skills
- Knowledge of basic recruitment practices
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
- Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
- Able to handle stress and remain calm
- Problem-solving ability
