Under the supervision of the Wellness Program Administrator, and directly working with a Fitness Coordinator, the Fitness Instructor will provide group fitness instruction, monitor, and educate participants on fitness and safety, and maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.

Work Schedule:

Yoga classes are taught 1 day a week for approximately 45 min between the times of 11a-1p. Based on the interest of the attendees, there is potential for additional classes.


  • Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching and cool down.

  • Instructs participants on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises, identifies different muscle groups and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.

  • Prepares appropriate equipment and music for each class.

  • Assists participants, answers questions and maintains a positive exercise experience for class participants.

  • Keeps Fitness staff informed of customer and facility needs.

  • Performs choreography and music skills.
  • Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.

  • Manages all programs in accordance with QuadMed’s operational, quality, safety, and service standards.


Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or directly related field preferred

  • Experience: 1 year required, 2-3 years preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

  • Current Personal Trainer Certification from ACSM/NSCA/ACE or other nationally accredited organization required preferred (required if no group fitness instructor certification)

  • Current Group Fitness Instructor Certification from a nationally accredited organization preferred (required if no personal trainer certification)

  • Current CPR/AED & First Aid Certified required
