Responsible for placing, confirming and monitoring a client’s media orders to ensure the clients’ advertising program is executed flawlessly. Provide a high level of service to the assigned accounts by acting as the liaison between the vendors and the client and by providing timely and accurate information to the client on daily account issues. Develop, negotiate and buy media across national networks and cable RB.  Serve as market expert by providing insight and recommendations for market placement.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Generate, confirm and track monthly insertion orders
  • Negotiating and placing media schedules
  • Makes timely placement of all media according to schedules and confirms placement prior to the ad(s) running
  • Update and maintain media planning proprietary database and client specific media plans
  • Verify vendor rates, quantities, space and materials reservations
  • Generate and update quantities for printer run list and supply to client and/or vendor
  • Generate, confirm and track monthly insertion orders
  • Provide mechanical specifications for on and offline ads and ensure media channel receives copy by deadline
  • Use client’s budget, internal benchmarks and market information to develop rate strategies for each vendor in order to negotiate best rates while maintaining media plan penetration goals
  • Communicate delivery deadlines with print vendors and communicate client expectations to vendors
  • Resolve media insertion mistakes/issues and negotiate relevant make-goods necessary
  • Liaison between the vendors and the printers to resolve delivery issues
  • Solve billing discrepancies with vendors and maintain billing adjustments, timely response to client requests and inquiries
  • Provide regular reporting to the client as it relates to media buying inclusive of budgeting/forecasting, cost scenarios, and executed program details inclusive of quantity and cost
  • Conduct competitive studies and provide competitive reports to client
  • Communicate with media Account Manager regarding work flow, priorities, challenges, successes or any other information necessary to ensure best practices are followed
  • Ensure best practices are being followed on assigned client team(s)
  • Negotiate rates/annual agreements with select vendors
  • Provide recommendations/POV’s on media products and opportunities that come up in the normal course of business. Use expertise and relevance to client, in creating optimal media plans for client’s approval based on media distribution data such as rates, market feedback/competitors, product type, distribution method, day of week availability, etc.
  • Utilize time management skills to prioritize work flow without sacrificing quality of work
  • Some contact with client(s) in regard to placement of their media program may be required
  • Interact with client and client services team to gain an understanding of media needs/recommend media solutions
  • Protect the confidential information that is part of the planning process
Qualifications:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Bachelor's degree (communications, marketing, advertising or business preferred)
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in media buying or media negotiating - print, digital and mobile preferred.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all clients, vendors and all levels of the internal organization
  • Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrates a desire to learn, willingness to do both menial tasks and take on more complex challenges
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to understand and use all current media hardware/software programs
  • Possess the ability to work with management to achieve Company goals including customer satisfaction and Company profitability
  • Demonstrate willingness to accept direction from management and peers to improve quality and performance
