GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB


The Clinical Trainer is part of the team dedicated to building a professional learning culture by providing engaging, high-quality training and development solutions for clinical staff that support QuadMed’s mission and vision and enhance the current and future organizational effectiveness enriching the lives of its employees.


The Clinical Trainer will be a highly motivated, quality-conscious healthcare professional with the ability to facilitate exceptional learning experiences for newly hired clinical staff so that they are able to perform all functions of their jobs in a clinic setting including using QuadMed’s clinical systems to follow all standardized workflows and standard operating procedures. The Clinical Trainer will provide expert clinical knowledge to a range of health professionals and staff throughout the organization. The Clinical Trainer may also be required to perform the clinical duties of an MA as needed.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide high quality evidence based training across QuadMed clinics and where appropriate.


  • Train new employees on front office (Medical Reception), back office (Nursing), processes/workflows and best practices/process for patient care for the QuadMed model.

  • May participate in waived lab training as needed

  • Provide competency testing for new employees on required job functions to ensure proficiency.Recommending further training and coaching as needed

  • Facilitate ongoing training for new employees throughout their first year, and beyond

  • Assist with new health and wellness center set-up, implementation, and provide support to center staff during go-lives which may require nation wide travel

  • Collaborate with training team and other areas of the business to produce training materials and events to address immediate and ongoing training needs

  • Acts as a positive role model in promoting clinical excellence ensuring that high levels of clinical quality and competence are maintained
  • Collaborate with Clinical Training Manager to create new training materials and resources as needed.
  • Work in QuadMed lab and carry out clinical responsibilities while filling in at centers as needed:

    • Prepares patients for and assists medical staff with patient examinations; continuously provide quality care to all patients.

    • Measures and records vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, etc.)

    • Ensures accurate and timely documentation into the EMR; i.e.- patient interviews and histories, vital signs, treatments, test results.

    • Maintains confidentiality of all patient, department, and organization information, and follows HIPAA regulations

    • Assist in the modification of patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses, conditions, and as ordered by the provider.

    • Consult and coordinate with internal and external partners to plan patients’ health activities, treatment, and referrals.

    • Prepares and administers medications and immunizations per provider order.

    • Perform diagnostic testing to assist the provider in identifying and assessing patient’s condition.

    • Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment. Ensure rooms are stocked with supplies.

    • Perform administrative, front office functions, and schedule appointments as requested.

  • Performs other position related duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS



Education:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program


Experience:


  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in Primary Care setting required

  • Previous training experience strongly preferred

  • Phlebotomy and CLIA waived testing experience preferred

  • Epic experience a plus


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:


  • Current license in state of Wisconsin or compact licensure required, if applicable

  • Current CPR (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Strong communications skills and excellent interpersonal skills required
  • Must have working knowledge of nursing practice theories and policies

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills required
  • Requires excellent assessment skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Expert user of electronic medical records

  • Strong knowledge and confidence in nursing functions and ability to teach others

  • Must have strong phlebotomy and immunization skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment required

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus, but not required

  • Must be able to travel nationally up to 20% of the time; additionally as needed based on business need
