GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Clinical Training Supervisor is part of the team dedicated to building a professional learning culture by providing engaging, high-quality clinical training and development solutions for clinicians that support QuadMed’s mission and vision and enhance the current and future organizational effectiveness and enrich the lives of its employees.

The Clinical Training Supervisor will lead Clinical Training team, responsible for training new QuadMed clinical employees as well as ensuring that existing employees have the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to continue to perform successfully by following all QuadMed standardized workflows and SOP’s and receive development opportunities to maintain positive employee engagement.

The Clinical Training Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all Clinical Trainers and Clinical Provider Trainers deliver current clinical training content and adhere to standardized training techniques and processes.

At times, the Clinical Training Supervisor may have to provide clinical care to patients in QuadMed clinics. Specific duties are detailed below.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead clinical training team members including talent acquisition, on-boarding, scheduling, training, employee development, staff communication, and performance management.

  • Coordinate the clinical training component of new hire training for clinical staff. 

  • Schedule and allocate clinical trainers and EMR Credentialed Trainers for training, ensuring the proper level of resources to meet all training commitments. 

  • Collaborate with Training Strategy and Development team to continuously improve new hire training experience and facilitate forums to drive quality training and development solutions at QuadMed. 

  • Maintain an understanding of clinical workflows and collaborate with the EMR Principal Trainer team, Operations and Operational Excellence to develop and maintain accurate and concise training standards, curricula and supporting training materials for all non-EMR clinical training; ensure that the materials used in clinical training are updated with any changes made to SOPs and standardized workflows as well as state regulations.  Partner with and receive all EMR training materials from Principal Training team.

  • In partnership with the EMR Principal Trainer (PT) team, coordinate the Credentialed Trainer program for delivery of EMR training, as developed by PTs, to new hires and staff.  

  • Create and maintain metrics to track performance data that measures success and ROI of training programs. Ensure objective are achieved through delivery of training.

  • Coordinate QuadMed’s student preceptorship program.

  • Participate on committees and ad hoc work groups, as requested, to provide input and understand impact of decisions made on clinical training materials and educational activities.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of adult learning theory and training best practices; provide coaching and guidance to ensure effective facilitation techniques.

  • Maintain appropriate training record documentation to meet accreditation guidelines.

  • Partner with leaders to recommend and document additional training and coaching for new hires, as needed, based on initial training and skills testing.

  • Train new employees on medical reception, nursing and waived labs, as needed.

  • Assist with new health and wellness center set-up, implementation, and Go-Live as needed.

  • Provide clinical care, based on relevant training and education, to patients in QuadMed health & wellness centers on an ongoing basis.  In doing so, fulfills all essential functions of the appropriate clinical role.

SCOPE

All QuadMed health and wellness centers.  Requires the ability to travel on an overnight basis on occasion to provide clinical care in health and wellness centers or to support training events. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

Education:
  • Graduate from an accredited clinical program required.   Graduate from an accredited medical assistants program with AAMA certification or a graduate from an accredited nursing, Physical Therapy, or Medical Laboratory Technician program preferred. 

Experience:
  • Five (5) years of relevant clinical experience required.  QuadMed experience preferred.

  • Two (2) years of training, adult education and/or instructional design experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

  • Current license in Wisconsin or compact licensure required (if applicable)

  • Current CPR (BLS) certification required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Working knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design and training best practices

  • Organization and time management skills in planning and executing

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, including the ability to effectively present training materials, provide instruction, guide end users and evaluate feedback

  • A working understanding of clinical terminology and clinician workflow processes

  • Ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and manage training/orientation programs

  • Requires excellent assessment skills
  • Proficiency in use of electronic health records

  • Strong knowledge and confidence in ability to teach others

  • Must be able to travel as needed (approximately 3%)
