Senior Pre-Sales Engineer

As a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer, you will serve as the bridge between the Sales Team and the Engineering Team, representing the technical aspects of in-store retail media and digital signage solutions to clients and stakeholders. This role requires both technical expertise and strong communication skills to articulate system capabilities, guide customers in selecting the right solutions, and support the sales cycle with demonstrations, documentation, and cost modeling.
This role requires a balance of Sales and Engineering acumen, with the ability to lead integration conversations with both clients and internal stakeholders to drive the best outcomes for all parties involved. The Sr. Pre-Sales Engineer will also be responsible for evaluating the feasibility of integration, performing cost modeling, and determining and communicating project timelines to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
You will work closely with Sales representatives, Engineering Teams, and Project Managers to ensure that client needs are met with scalable and technically sound digital signage solutions. Additionally, you will support post-sales handoff to the Project teams to ensure a seamless deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales Support & Technical Consultation
- Engage with customers and internal teams to understand digital signage requirements and technical challenges.
- Develop tailored solutions that align with customer needs and business objectives.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in responding to RFPs/RFIs by providing technical documentation and solution overviews.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for digital signage solutions, staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies.
- Lead integration conversations with clients and internal representatives to ensure the best possible solution design and implementation strategy.
- Support the Sales Team by strategizing in-store retail media technical solutions that drive engagement and enhance the shopper experience.
Pre-Sales System Design & Solution Architecture
- Collaborate with Engineering Teams to develop scalable and cost-effective digital signage architectures.
- Convert client requirements into innovative design concepts to aid in the creation of new products.
- Quote & manage hardware, software, networking costs to support Quad's In-Store Retail Media Platform scale growth.
- Provide detailed documentation and solution diagrams to assist with implementation and client onboarding.
- Evaluate feasibility of integration for new and existing systems, ensuring smooth interoperability across platforms.
Sales Enablement & Cost Modeling
- Work closely with sales teams to develop pricing strategies, ROI calculations, and cost breakdowns.
- Provide competitive analysis on available digital signage solutions and industry benchmarks.
- Create technical sales collateral, including whitepapers, presentations, and case studies.
Client Engagement & Training
- Provide pre-sales training to sales representatives to ensure they understand digital signage solutions and capabilities.
- Support account executives in client meetings, answering technical questions and addressing concerns.
- Assist in the development of training materials and knowledge base documentation for internal teams and customers.
Collaboration & Post-Sales Transition
- Ensure a smooth handoff from pre-sales to post-sales engineering and implementation teams.
- Collaborate with project managers and support teams to ensure project scope, timeline, and deliverables align with customer expectations.
- Determine and communicate appropriate and determined project timelines to ensure alignment with client and business expectations.
- Participate in post-deployment evaluations to refine and improve solution offerings.
Job Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, AV Technology, or a related field preferred.
- CTS, CTS-D, DSCE certification is a plus.
- Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are beneficial.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience minimum in digital signage, AV integration, or pre-sales engineering required.
- Hands-on experience with digital signage hardware, content management systems (CMS), and display technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking principles, content delivery methods, and device management.
- Familiarity with content management, signal distribution, and cloud-based signage solutions.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and project management.
- Ability to create compelling technical sales presentations, diagrams, and documentation.
- Previous experience in technical sales, presales consulting, or solution architecture preferred.

- Proactive research in emerging trends in In-Store Retail Media and Digital Signage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client-facing engagements.

- Ability to command and lead technical discussions that align both business and engineering perspectives.
