The Copywriter is expected to possess an aptitude for copy/design, an awareness of the Company’s copy/design capabilities, an understanding of industry standards and practices related to Copywriting, and the ability to work with clients (internal and external) to coordinate project flow and deadlines. Additionally, the Copywriter must have the experience/ability to read, understand, and work with client data to fulfill his/her role.
We are looking for a candidate to work closely with design, graphic artists and marketing personnel to deliver content that exceeds clients’ expectations. The goal is to ensure accurate translation of marketing objectives to synthesize information and phrase it in a new way that aligns and engages the target audience(s).

Sr. Copywriter, Direct Marketing Creative
Betty is looking for a Sr. Copywriter to produce written marketing and promotional materials that make a company’s products more accessible and engaging to potential customers. This candidate must be detail-oriented to create content that’s free of errors, follows grammatical rules and aligns with a client’s nuanced brand voice. The successful candidate will work closely with the design, graphic arts and marketing personnel to deliver content that exceeds the expectations of our clients.
The goal will be to ensure accurate translation of marketing objectives to synthesize information and phrase it in a new way that aligns and engages the target audience(s).
Things you’ll do:
- Ensure continual learning via Accelerated Marketing Insights testing of content and design; making ongoing optimizations based on data-driven insights
- Interpret creative direction and technical information and turn them into persuasive copy concepts
- Meet with clients to understand their message, brand voice and target audience
- Work with clients to edit and modify copy to meet their content expectations
- Work with the creative team to produce new ideas for branding, promotional campaigns, and direct marketing communications
- Evaluate trends, assess new data and stay up to date with the latest marketing techniques
- Assist clients in resolving issues by responding to questions in a timely and professional manner
- Shape brand standards and create procedures to ensure all products are brand appropriate
- Write clear and error-free content for a website that reflects the company’s voice
- Propose copy concepts in an engaging way for clients and carry out projects once they are approved
- Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability
Things we need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication or marketing
- Experience: 7+ years producing copy for direct mail, print and digital media channels
- Skills:
- Proven success in producing copy for advertising or marketing campaigns
- Creativity, adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Strong communication and computer skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Strong grammar, spelling and punctuation skills
- Editing skills
- Able to work collaboratively with other writers and designers
- Strong print background with understanding of new media/technology trends and tools
- Strong organizational skills with ability to successfully juggle and deliver multiple projects and proactively communicate status and issues
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Must be able to write a functional spec (in conjunction with cross-functional team)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to write and present to a large audience with little input from manager
- Possesses understanding of business environment and demonstrates very good decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills to work with people at all levels
- Sets direction and conceptually thinks about a project/product, and creates a road map for others to follow
- Demonstrates accountability, initiative and resourcefulness and will go the extra mile to support the business Reviews
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English-language general advertising, marketing, media, TV and radio terminology and processes
- Knowledge of web, internet, and FTP technology
- Knowledge of technical solutions and troubleshooting techniques
- Extensive knowledge of AP Style
- Experience with MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint
- Design Software: Acrobat, InDesign, and Microsoft Office, agency soft-proofing software
- Archiving and backup procedures
- MAC-based hardware/software systems
- Basic understanding of remote conductivity to communicate with Quad headquarters
