GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Spoke Offset Plate maker is responsible for bending digital plates for all presses in a specific location and inspecting for quality. Trouble shooting equipment, general maintenance and clean-up of the area and working with internal and external customers to support the printing process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bending digital plates for all presses in a specific location

Maintain platemaking equipment Including but not limited to daily and weekly processor maintenance

Troubleshoot equipment and process issues as they arise

Check plates for Quality

Track or move job components through production using Smart tools

SCOPE

Spoke Plate makers – are responsible for location specific templates, plates and Equipment Maintenance

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

Education:

High School diploma or GED (Equivalent training and experience would be adequate)

Experience:

1-3 months experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

None

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Basic working knowledge of computer systems used in Plate room (MAC OS/Windows OS & Imaging Job Control, DVS plater and Load board)

Basic Mechanical skills

Work schedules necessary to meet the production needs – shifts may vary. Overtime as required

Knowledge of Press layout configurations for example Saddle Stitch, Perfect Binding, Gatefolds, half and ¾ webs.

Basic understanding for workflows and procedures in area

Ability to read, comprehend and write instructions, correspondence and present information when necessary

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure
