The Sales Account Executive will be part of a small-but-mighty team, working in a supportive and collaborative environment. We consider everyone on this team a Brand Ambassador and we hold each other to a high standard of conduct, particularly when dealing with clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate revenue through advertising sales, meeting and exceeding monthly and annual goals
  • Ability to assess the needs of existing and new business clients and offer creative marketing solutions featuring our entire suite of products: print, digital, social, video and events
  • Maintain an active pipeline and accurately forecast results.  Stay in touch with existing clients and actively cold call 20 new prospects weekly
  • Grow and maintain strategic partnerships with clients and key organizations
  • Communicate with clients and the ad design department to facilitate timely ad creation and proofing
  • Understand the role that Milwaukee Magazine plays in being a key voice in our community that has as its core mission celebrating our city
  • Full participation in and commitment to group initiatives 
  • Respond to RFPs with a high degree of detail and in a timely manner 
  • Prepare Insertion Orders and negotiate contracts with company’s interests in mind 
  • Actively participate in company promotional events, as well as outside company sales gatherings such as networking events and client promotions 
  • Update customer database; track client touchpoints, and strategically use ad management system to organize book of business and to prospect new clients

Qualifications:

  • 3 years+ sales experience, preferably in selling advertising and marketing solutions
  • Have a proven “Consultative Selling” background with a track record of success
  • Ability to create a comprehensive and creative marketing plan for clients 
  • Experience selling digital solutions, including programmatic, geo-fencing, native content, connected TV, email, SEO and SEM is a plus
  • Excellent prospecting and cold calling skills necessary. An aggressive attitude in getting to the decision maker is essential
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to represent our brand with poise and sophistication 
  • Intermediate skill level using MS Office tools and CRM
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast pace, exciting environment
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and maintain solid working relationships with clients and staff
  • Self-motivated with a passion to make money
  • A robust network of connections in Milwaukee is a plus+
