Mail Sorter Operators
Job Description
Quad, a global leader in the commercial printing and direct marketing industry is seeking Mail Sorter Operators to work in our rapidly expanding East Coast Supercenter in Westampton, NJ.
These positions are responsible for the set up and operation of mail sortation equipment and will be involved in training and directing other crew members, continuous clean up and housekeeping of the production area, as well as ensuring compliance with quality, safety and work rules. Some positions may also include operation of a forklift truck.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee production workers on designated lines and assures accurate and timely processing of mail runs to ensure mailing productivity standards are met.
Operate Presorting machines to sort and barcode mail received from customers while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards.
Assure quality of output by double checking the date, weight, thickness, barcodes, presort slug, indicia, postage rate, class of mail, etc.
Understand machine software and how & when to change sort plans, set address blocks, etc.
Maximize read rates on the mail by making appropriate adjustments.
Assure the machine is running properly.
Remain informed of acceptance times and when trucks must leave.
Comply with all quality, safety rules and regulations as well as Standard Operating Procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have a minimum of two years’ experience in a fast-paced production environment or pre-sort mailing experience.
This position requires the ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, stand for long hours, use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement, receive and follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
The ability to work 12 hour shifts (7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M. or 7:00 P.M. – 7:00 A.M. including some weekends, and some holidays), as well as overtime as needed is required.
Basic computer skills and effective communication skills are necessary. 
Preference will be given to those who have experience operating Direct Mail related equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with Team Lead and Department Manager.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Outstanding attention to detail required.
