Quad is currently seeking a Production Planner for our production facility in Woburn, MA. This position is responsible for planning, monitoring and adjusting the production schedule to meet internal and external deadlines, ensure client satisfaction, and maintain profitability.

The schedule for this position is full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday.

The job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and adjust production schedule while upholding critical deadlines.
  • Revise production schedule in accordance with order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of material, equipment, labor, and supplies.
  • Participate in, or lead production meetings with all necessary business units to effectively communicate proposed schedule and navigate potential barriers.
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity to organize most efficient production plan. Responsible for planning downtime and coordination with maintenance department.
  • Effectively communicate with sales, job planning, customer service and production.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to support material flow throughout the value stream.
  • Continuously acquire and apply knowledge as it pertains to company success and growth.


  • Post high school degree or at least 5 years print or manufacturing experience required; business or printing related Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Able to work well in high pressure situations with tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience in monitoring production from start to finish.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other computer applications. Previous experience with scheduling software preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and possess good follow-up skills and excellent communication and organizational skills.

General characteristics of the successful candidate include:

  • Qualified candidate must have a general understanding of the print process. Experience in a Point of Purchase (POP) manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to apply critical thinking in difficult, time-sensitive situations. Great problem solver, with the ability to see cause and effect.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A self-starter requiring little day-to-day direction.
  • Has the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Able to thrive in a team environment.
