Leading the Way in Recycling: Quad’s Commitment to Sustainability
On this America Recycles Day, Quad reflects proudly on its long-standing commitment to reducing environmental impact. Since the 1970s, Quad has championed sustainability with its robust recycling program, setting an example for industries nationwide.
At the heart of this initiative lies an extraordinary statistic: Quad recycles approximately 98% of industrial wastepaper at its U.S. facilities. This remarkable achievement is made possible by the dedication of Quad’s recycling team, who continuously push the boundaries of innovation in sustainability.
“Our strategy is founded on landfill avoidance,” shares Patrick Rock, Senior Manager of Recycling at Quad. “We recycle or reuse anything we can find a home for. We organize wastepaper into many different grades, which is unprecedented in the industry. It’s all about taking that extra step.”
The team’s meticulous approach ensures that materials are recycled or repurposed efficiently and effectively, reducing waste and conserving resources. By sorting wastepaper into distinct grades, Quad has implemented a system that exceeds industry standards, reaffirming its position as a leader in sustainability.
Beyond operations, Quad encourages everyone to reflect on their own recycling habits and consider taking that “extra step” for the planet. Whether it’s recycling more thoughtfully or finding new ways to reduce waste, small actions can lead to a significant impact.
As Quad celebrates America Recycles Day, its commitment to the environment shines brighter than ever—a testament to decades of hard work and a vision for a greener, more sustainable future.
