The Flexo Operator -  Inspector is responsible for feeding, catching, packing, unpacking, repacking, and inspecting product during finishing operations to ensure all printed and finished materials meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role supports production by performing inspections and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process and preparing finished goods for shipment. Wages starting at $17.50 / hr

8 hr Shift Openings Include:

1st Shift: Monday - Friday 5 am - 1 pm

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 1 pm - 9 pm +$3.00 shift premium

3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday 9 pm - 5 am +$3.00 shift premium

Key Responsibilities: 
•    Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), job orders, safety policies, and quality requirements.
•    Read and interpret job orders to determine schedules, materials, quantities, and inspection criteria.
•    Feed, catch, inspect, and pack products at machine speeds required by production jobs.
•    Inspect and test samples at prescribed intervals to ensure conformance to specifications.
•    Identify, segregate, and route defective or non conforming materials for rework or disposal.
•    Notify supervisors or designated personnel of deviations, defects, equipment issues, or maintenance needs.
•    Stop machines in emergency situations when required.

Feeder Responsibilities
•    Clean and maintain work areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.
•    Remove and isolate components from previous jobs.
•    Transport make ready stock using hand pallet jacks or other approved equipment.
•    Load and unload materials onto machines, pallets, skids, or conveyors.
•    Maintain neat, organized hopper loading and monitor for operating issues.
•    Document production information and complete line clearance procedures.

Inspector Responsibilities
•    Collect samples using kick out identifiers for inspection or testing.
•    Measure dimensions using rulers, calipers, or gauges as required.
•    Count, package, and prepare inspected products for further processing or shipment.
•    Pack finished products according to job order specifications and ensure proper delivery to shipping or storage areas.

Sorter Inspector Responsibilities
•    Sort, inspect, pack, unpack, or repack products based on defined quality criteria.
•    Grade products into acceptable and unacceptable categories by lot, color, or specification.
•    Record inspection results and production data accurately.
•    Operate trash compactors or shredders as assigned.
•    Stage scrap and finished materials in designated areas.
    Additional Responsibilities
•    Maintain clean work areas and ensure proper handling of waste, overruns, and non conforming materials.
•    Assist with non glued jobs, hand glued jobs, cutting layer boards, and dividers.
•    Meet efficiency and productivity expectations.
•    Promote teamwork, cross training, and continuous improvement.
•    Mentor and assist team members on finishing projects as needed.
•    Comply with all food safety and quality policies and report concerns to site leadership.
•    Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 
•    Manufacturing experience in the packaging industry preferred. 
•    Machine repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•    Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). 
•    Ability to read, speak, and understand English to interpret job orders and communicate issues. 
•    Strong attention to detail with ability to quickly and accurately compare visual information. 
•    Computer proficiency. 
•    Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. 
•    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently. 
•    Consistent attendance and punctuality. 
•    Ability to set up, inspect, and pack non glued jobs independently. 
•    Ability to recognize workflow, perform job setups, and complete counts, reconciliation, and inventories
