Associate, Media Planning
ApplyGeneral Purpose of Job
The Associate, Media Planning helps build and support the development of media plans across multiple channels. As an entry-level role, the Associate represents the start of a career in media planning and plays a key role in the day-to-day execution of media planning activities for assigned clients. This position conducts research on audience trends, competitive insights, and media costs, while assisting with authorizations, order forms, and other planning activities to support the successful development of data-driven media plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research using media tools and resources to support the development of audience insights, market trends, and media strategies.
- Gather information used to develop media communication plans, including demographic profiles, media usage habits, and media costs.
- Assist with the preparation, development, and monitoring of media communication plans and client presentations.
- Maintain flowcharts, buying guidelines, testing plans, results analyses, budget summaries, plan delivery documentation, and competitive reports.
- Run and maintain spending reports and develop baseline analyses of campaign performance data.
- Develop an understanding of client media planning processes to support communication planning objectives.
- Serve as a backup point of contact for internal and external account teams and media partners regarding media plan implementation and maintenance.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships through professional verbal and written communication.
- Attend and participate in internal meetings as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of written directions, work orders, recommendations, media contracts, and client approvals, including authorizations for chargeable services.
- Ensure agency processes and best practices are followed for assigned client accounts.
- Prepare and maintain internal and client status reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
