GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Finance Systems Analyst will report to the Manager of Financial System Administration and plays a critical role in supporting the administration and continuous improvement of the company’s General Ledger (Coda) and Consolidation (HFM) systems. This position serves as a vital bridge between operational accounting needs and forward-looking finance transformation initiatives, helping to drive innovation through process optimization, automation, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience working with financial systems, and a passion for enhancing finance processes through technology. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders in Finance, Accounting, and IT to ensure system integrity, improve reporting capabilities, and contribute to projects that increase efficiency, accuracy, and strategic insight.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and maintain the General Ledger (Coda) and Consolidation (HFM) systems to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Support the chart of accounts and ensure alignment with reporting requirements.
- Provide user support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution related to financial systems.
- Design, build, and maintain financial reports and queries to support business needs and compliance.
- Support initiatives that improve the end-to-end close cycle, reporting workflows, and compliance processes through automation or re-design.
- Create and maintain end-user documentation, including procedures, training materials, and knowledge articles.
- Conduct training for new users and support continuous learning for Coda and HFM functionality.
- Collaborate with Finance teams during monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure systems support efficient execution.
- Support internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance by documenting and monitoring control processes.
- Partner with IT and business stakeholders to evaluate and implement system upgrades, integrations, and automation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline finance operations through creative thinking, data-driven insights, and technology adoption.
- Participate in special projects focused on digital finance transformation, including robotic process automation (RPA), AI tools, and data visualization platforms.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Accounting
Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in a finance, accounting, or financial systems role.
- Exposure to general ledger and/or financial consolidation systems is preferred.
- Experience with finance transformation or process improvement initiatives is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Access and SQL is a plus.
- Exposure to automation platforms (e.g., Automation Anywhere, UiPath) or BI tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau) is highly valued, but not required
- Ability to document processes and drive improvements in a structured, analytical way.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system and process issues independently.
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Demonstrates capability to foster and sustain productive working relationships with colleagues and end-users from diverse backgrounds.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and working both independently and collaboratively.
- A growth mindset and passion for learning about new tools and technologies that can improve finance operations.
