GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Infrastructure Administrator isan entry level position responsible for implementing technology solutions at a beginner to intermediate level.  The Administrator is focused on general knowledge among a few related technologies.  This role collaborates with other GIS employees to implement solutions and maintain documentation, as well as providing support for implementing solutions as needed. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On call rotation, periodic 24x7 support responsibilities
  • Works as a part of a team to complete tasks/projects
  • Implements and maintains IT assets within a service
  • Maintains documentation/SOPs for implementation
  • Understands infrastructure interactions at a general level

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field preferred

Experience:0-3 years of experience in the IT field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to grasp new concepts and technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with one (or more) of the following:
    • Network technologies (WAN, LAN, Wireless LAN, Unified Communication, VoIP)
    • Windows Server or Linux distributions
    • Server virtualization (VMWare, HyperV)
    • Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • Backup and retention
