The PreMedia Production Artist is responsible for creating print-ready files with utilizing the highest production quality standards, exceeding client expectations within a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities:

• Create print-ready layouts for signage using client provided data and style guidance
• Assemble all elements of documents, ensuring quality typography
• Proper color breaks, trapping (when necessary)
• Graphics placement and photo requirements (resolution, ink limit)
• Appropriate print specifications resulting in technically accurate final deliverable files
• Render logos and artwork to meet print-ready end deliverable specifications
• General knowledge of the workflows and procedures for the assigned area
• Understanding of Mac environment
• Read and follow internal markup and customer instructions
• Work collaboratively, creatively and open-mindedly with project managers and/or art 
• Promptly notify the appropriate people of challenges affecting quality, schedule or budgets
• Discuss different approaches and methods to achieve individual and departmental goals
• Continually review current production processes for efficiencies for improvements/changes
• Provide clear and concise written and/or verbal instructions to other team members

Qualifications:
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years industry experience
• Knowledge of creating and working with templates and style sheets; including page formatting of copy, placing photos and artwork; producing multiple versions 
• Mastery of Mac-based InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat 
• Knowledge of steps required for the print process and an understanding of production methods to ensure designs can be produced for print delivery 
• Strong communication skills – verbal and written
