Our 82,000 sq. ft. facility in Spartanburg, SC is a state-of-the-art packaging plant that serves a diverse range of clients, including medical, pharmaceutical and well known liquor and tobacco brands.  We offer Sheetfed offset, and narrow-web flexo, along with die cutting and custom folding/gluing, all supported by advanced inline quality control systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   Operating a flat cutter to cut unprinted stock for the press room and cutting stock after it is printed, reviewing the project ticket, and setting up according to work instructions.  The operator will set up and run equipment in a manner that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills.   We are looking for an operator that can work these hours:

6 am - 2 pm (Monday-Friday)

Wages start between $18.00 - $23.00 / hour depending on relevant work experience and a strong employment history. 

Duties Include:

• Set up, operate, and/or monitor the cutter.  
• Make final pre-run inspection. Obtain final run approval from the supervisor or designated lead. 
• Accurately record shop floor data entries in a timely and accurate manner. 
• Monitor and record final part count on the project ticket.  
• Complete load tag to identify job and attach to load. 
• Deliver the completed project to the next operation.  
• Maintain established checkpoints and procedures throughout the run.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance as required. 
•  Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. 
•  Maintain acceptable productivity standards while minimizing raw material waste. 
• Perform additional duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• Must possess the ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment.  Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical. Must be reliable and proactive. 
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Ability to make and read measurements. 
• Ability to read, understand, and carry out written instructions.
• Ability to understand verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic computer skills are required. 
• Ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally, stand long hours (8-hour shift), use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement, receive and follow instructions, and use vision to identify defects. 
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• (2) or more years of experience setting up and operating flat cutters. Guillotine Cutter- Heidelberg Polar Cutter preferred, but will train the right candidate
