General Purpose of Job:
The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for driving business development by establishing its own leads and building new business through the active pursuit of new In-Store Marketing prospects (new clients/new logos) that are outside of Quad’s current client base. The Business Development Executive will execute full sales transactions from prospecting, pitching, nurturing the relationship, creating and managing the opportunity, negotiating and closing the sale.
Key Responsibilities:
Includes but is not limited to:
- Identifying, qualifying, driving and developing new relationships within target markets including, but not limited to:
- National retailers (mass/big box, department store, specialty retail, grocery and drug/pharmacy)
- National & Emerging Brands (beverage, cosmetics, apparel and shoes)
- Achieving established sales and revenue goals by selling In-Store offerings (printed signage campaigns and/or temporary and permanent point-of-purchase displays) to new clients.
- Driving business development by establishing its own leads and building new business through the active pursuit of new sales prospects (new clients/new logos).
- Ability to develop and pitch a robust value proposition and curated solutions tailored to unique business needs.
- Developing strong relationships with C-Suite executives such as; Marketing Director, Merchandising Director, Vice President/Sr. Vice President, Chief Market Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Brand Owners and overall influencers and decision makers.
- Execute strong pipeline management, with emphasis on, and proficiency using the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date revenue forecasts and pipeline reports to give visibility to leadership.
- Executing full sales transactions: prospecting & lead generation, nurturing the relationship, creating the opportunity, pitching/presenting, negotiating and closing of the sale.
- Acting as a consultant and assessing the business to understand client’s and prospect's marketing objectives and strategy to apply Quad solutions accordingly.
- Execute Scope of Work (SOW) and Master Service Agreement (MSA) agreements on behalf of Quad.
- Meet quarterly and annual forecasting goals with the VP Sales & Administration InStore in order to achieve or exceed revenue objectives.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelors Degree Preferred
Experience: 10+ years of Business Development/Sales selling printed In-Store Marketing to retailers and brand owners
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of In-Store marketing campaigns including sign kits (pricing/promotional, seasonal, holiday, evergreen or own brands); temporary and permanent signage and point-of-purchase displays, storefront portals, fulfilment and structural design
- Solutions selling experience
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Extensive customer service skills in order to successfully assist and support clients
- Significant existing marketing relationships within key accounts within target markets is required
- Meet with and present to clients in person or via online, understanding and articulating our value proposition, and the integration of our holistic go-to-market approach of client service, design expertise, robust in-house capabilities and technology
- Be well versed in In-Store marketing strategies including: strategic and structural design innovation, knowledge in various substrates tied to printing techniques, understanding of a robust finishing process and capabilities tied to overall timing, and an understanding of complex kitting programs tied to distribution
- Ability to market to C Level Executives
- Computer savvy with MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience using Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Strong time management skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to travel as needed (est. 30-60%)
