The Senior CAD Engineer is responsible for leading the design and engineering documentation packages of complex engineering solutions for Quad’s retail media platforms using advanced AutoCAD software. This role requires a high level of expertise in CAD modeling and simulation to ensure designs are both innovative and practical for implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the creation of comprehensive Quad Drawing Packages, encompassing Title Blocks, Floorplans, Elevations & Sections, Cable Risers, Wiring Diagrams, Equipment Details, Electrical and Power Layouts, and Mechanical/Architectural Details, ensuring all elements meet project requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborates with Engineers to define drawing requirements and accurately draft all necessary information using AutoCAD, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to project guidelines.
  • Analyzes sketches, notes, layouts, and specifications from various sources, including 3rd party drawings and verbal instructions, translating them into precise drawing formats to accurately represent project requirements.
  • Converts, formats, scales, and layers 3rd party drawings for seamless integration into the Quad drawing packages, maintaining consistency and accuracy throughout.
  • Creates AutoCAD templates and block repositories to streamline workflow efficiency and scalability, optimizing productivity and standardization across projects.
  • Create CAD standards and procedures for layering, sheet layout, numbering schema, file folder structure, etc. for consistency across all clients drawing packages.
  • Establishes a standardized process for managing and maintaining records of current versions, revisions, supersedes, and submittals, facilitating efficient document control and revision management.
  • Reviews and validates final drawing details prior to release, ensuring alignment with project expectations and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Plots, publishes, and produces a final PDF package submittal for cross-departmental use.

Job Requirements & Skills:

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or greater with at least three years AV specific project experience.
  • Ability to model in both 2D and 3D environments.
  • Knowledgeable with Plot Styles, XRef’s, CAD Profiling, and Layering.
  • Experience utilizing Revit for creating, editing, and managing architectural designs.
  • Advanced understanding and experience in leveraging BIM 360 for streamlined project management and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam for effective document management, collaboration, and tracking.
  • Strong understanding of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and AV/IT design principles.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments, consistently meeting project deadlines and milestones.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Takes initiative to build, construct, organize, and maintain all documentation packages in an organized and structured manner.
  • Follows general drafting practices and standards.
  • Possesses good organizational, written, and verbal skills
  • Familiar with Audio Visual/IT Equipment, Technology, Systems Integration, & Commerical Electronics.
  • Possesses a superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in CAD engineering/drafting, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
