Print Sourcing Analyst

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Print Sourcing Analyst will be responsible for working closely with all levels of the organization in supporting new and existing business opportunities in leading due diligence efforts including, gathering specifications, analyzing market data, performing market RFPs (Request for Proposals), communicating with our print suppliers and providing actionable insights through reporting. This role will play a critical part in supporting pricing decisions, maximizing profitability, and ensuring competitive positioning in the market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary function: Data organization and analysis to support the optimizing the procurement of print-related materials and services.
- Data Analysis: Gather, analyze, and interpret print-related data, such as client project specifications (RFPS and other), client annual spend allocation, overall department spend data, supplier performance metrics, and market trends, to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and supplier optimization.
- Strategic Sourcing Support: Contribute to the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for various print categories, by providing analytical support to understand optimize available data.
- Reporting and Communication: Create reports and presentations detailing findings, price analyses, and recommendations to stakeholders, including internal business partners and leadership.
- Pricing Strategy & Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive pricing models and strategies that reflect current market trends, competitor analysis, and internal cost structures. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to pricing, revenue, and margin performance. Prepare regular reports on pricing competitiveness, cost breakdowns, and profitability analysis for senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost efficiencies, and pricing adjustments based on market shifts and customer feedback. Assist in the development of new pricing structures and initiatives to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field.
Experience: 2-3+ years of experience in a pricing, financial analysis, or similar role within the print industry or a related field. Strong knowledge of print production processes, pricing structures, and cost models.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and draw actionable insights. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Data Visualization: Proficiency in using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel (including advanced functions, pivot table, VLOOKUP, etc.) to create clear and impactful visualizations of data findings. Competence in writing and executing queries to extract and manipulate data from databases.
- Pricing and Job Management Systems: Familiarity with ERP systems, pricing software, or other data analysis tools (print-specific preferred).
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of the print industry landscape, business objectives, and how sourcing decisions impact profitability.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and analysis.
- Multifunctional Abilities: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
