At Quad’s Waukesha Commingle facility, the Shift Supervisor leads cross-functional teams and oversees daily manufacturing operations. This role monitors production equipment, supports employees, and ensures safety, quality, productivity, and morale expectations are met. This is a 2nd shift position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support employees across multiple departments.
- Monitor equipment, machine cycles, run times, and downtime.
- Coordinate with Operations, Business Area Leaders, Splitting, Logistics, Dispatch, and the Post Office.
- Ensure machines have the necessary materials and resources.
- Monitor attendance and enter information into Labman.
- Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records in Quad software systems.
- Process rejects and out-of-scheme mail.
- Support postal verifications and mail-drop acceptance.
- Troubleshoot basic machine issues and escalate problems as needed.
- Train, coach, motivate, evaluate, and discipline employees when appropriate.
- Lead monthly shift huddles covering production plans and safety topics.
- Complete end-of-shift reports covering production, downtime, machine and employee issues, and housekeeping.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable postal regulations.
Performance Expectations
- Achieve approximately 20,000 pieces per hour.
- Maintain flush times under 30 minutes.
- Promote accuracy and accountability throughout the production process.
- Communicate effectively with employees and Operations staff.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
- Use Quad software accurately and effectively.
